This is how to make use of Polaris CLI, follow these steps for a smooth experience.
Windows setup :
1. Make your tasks like you usually do for any module in the Polaris UI.
2. Go into the settings tab and toggle on "CLI (Command line)" and then press save settings.
Now press "OPEN CLI WINDOW".
You will now see these options, type the numbers infront of the text to do what it says:
After pressing 1, to start tasks, you will have to choose which module you want to start tasks for, use arrow keys to navigate and then press enter.
Now all tasks of that chosen module will start, you will see all the tasks and status updates in the CLI, the UI will seem "Frozen".
Mac OS Setup :
Download Since Mac OS security doesn't allow it to be packaged with Polaris the setup is a little more complicated, follow these steps for a smooth experience.
1. Download the file from the link above.
2. Open a Terminal and type "sudo chmod +x " (without the quotes but with the space at the end).
3. Drag the cli-macos file into the Terminal.
4. Hit enter and then enter your password if it asks you for it.
5. Follow the steps from the windows setup starting at the beginning, at step 3 you would need to double click on the cli-macos file in finder to open it.
6. Follow the rest of the windows setup, that's it!
1. Do not use CLI with Special mode , you can't restart tasks. 2. We recommend CLI mainly for Footsites, Mesh, Finishline and JDSports. 3. If your computer is slow, this will help a lot with performance.
4. When running a lot of tasks for the sites mentioned above, it will use a lot of your internet, because of this we advise you to run on a server.
